Week 8 : Search Influence SEO Analysis

For the Week 8 business, Writing Your Own Wedding Vows, we need traffic to our site.  To run our test, we got traffic by buying Cost-Per-Click google ads, but this is not a long term sustainable model.  We need organic traffic directly from search engines. Our initial research showed that many people were searching for keywords related to “writing your own wedding vows”. We just need to be closer to the top of the Google results.  This is where Search Engine Optimization comes in.

We asked our good friends at Search Influence for some advice. SEO has changed alot recently as Google’s algorithm improves so it’s important to get up to date advice from professionals. Here are a few of their main pieces of advice (you can also find the full report HERE):

  • 29 broken links
  • Google+ and Twitter icons are attached to the NOLA Sidecars pages
  • Facebook page should match name of business on website
  • Add more content to each page – 250+ words on each
  • Home page title tag should be structured – “brand name | keyword or service”
    • All other title tags should be structured – “keyword or service | brand name”
  • Build out Youtube Channel, Google+ page, Yelp profile
  • Build mobile/responsive site
